Edinburgh's Christmas 2026 - Build & Site Team


We're looking for enthusiastic and experienced team members to join our Site Managers to help on the build of Edinburgh's Christmas Sites.

We're interested in hearing from you if you have experience in construction/carpentry/festival or event building/fencing and scaffolding and painting as well as plant operators or build crews. Roles are offered on a contract basis and run on varying dates between 27th October and 23rd November 2025, and then again between 5th January and 18th January 2026. There may be potential for some work across our Hogmanay events and being part of the Christmas team means you will be in our contact pool should we require more crew.

Roles are paid dependent on skill set and experience but are no less than £14.00 per hour.

We have a limited amount of positions that run the duration of the season as Site Assistants who help keep the site running and are involved in general maintenance and management of the sites with our Site Managers.

    We’re looking for enthusiastic, outgoing staff to be part of our team for Edinburgh’s Christmas and Hogmanay Celebrations.
    You will need customer service experience, loads of enthusiasm and a willingness to work in a team.

    You will be looking after visitors to the Edinburgh’s Christmas and Hogmanay events which attract a wide range of people and ensuring they have a brilliant memorable time at the event.

    As a Bar Team Supervisor, you’ll be in looking after the Bars Team on the frontline of our event, ensuring that the bars teams have everything they need to have a smooth bar operation on shift. This role is vital. We expect hard graft and an ability to work in a team with new people, creating a great working environment conducive to an amazing experience.

    Our Bar Supervisors main goal is to ensure the customer receives the highest quality service and in assisting the smooth operational running of the bar, making sure staff are fulfilling their duties to the best of their ability.

    We require all our staff to be over 18 (due to Licensing restrictions), have a UK bank account, speak fluent English and have the necessary visa requirements to work in the UK.

    The role is paid at £15.25 per hour, paid fortnightly in arrears.

    We are looking for superstar Bar Team Members and Logistics

    Bars are an essential part of the Edinburgh's Christmas experience, between the 14th November 2026 and 3rd January 2027. As a bar team member, you will be on the front line, serving drinks and making our customers day. This role is vital. We expect hard graft and an ability to work in a team with new people, creating a great working environment conducive to an amazing experience. This role requires you to be flexible and mature. Your focus will be on making drinks, dealing with stock, keeping the bar and venue clean, working with other departments and being friendly to customers.

    Staff are required to be 18+ due to the licensed nature of our sites, and have a legal right to work in the UK, no Visas are able to be offered for these roles.

    Rates of pay is £13.45 per hours paid in arrears.

    We are looking for customer service champions to work as customer facing team members on our sites across George Street, East and West Princes St Gardens and

    You'll provide help and information to those visiting the event and be the face of Edinburgh's Christmas, so a background in Customer Service is really valuable.

    Roles are available in Edinburgh fromw/c 9th November 2026 until 4th of January 2027 and applicants must have availability over the festive period.
    Due to the nature of the event, applicants must be 18+ by 15th November 2025.

    Roles for staff start from £13.45 per hour.

    We are looking for friendly, Christmas-loving Elves to assist Santa to welcome children and families to the grotto at Edinburgh’s Christmas. You'll entertain children of all ages and help them to experience the joy of Christmas by creating a magical atmosphere at our Santa’s Stories attraction.

    Roles are available in Edinburgh from 20th November until 24th December 2026 and applicants must have availability over the festive period.

    You will be part of a well-trained team who have a thorough knowledge of the ticketing system and our Winter Festival programme. As a member of the Box Office team, you will be an important and skilled team member able to resolve customer queries, advise and direct customers. Assembly Festival is one of the longest-running and most prestigious of the multi-space venues operating as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. For more than four decades we have welcomed thousands of artists onto the Assembly stages. Last year presented around 250 shows across August and this year Assembly Festival once again brings back the magic to the city and be a part of the 79th Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

 

We have come a long way since our first festival 45 years ago, in Edinburgh when our founder and artistic director William Burdett-Coutts OBE took on the iconic Assembly Rooms venue to host several shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and this year we are hoping for it to be our best yet!
