Edinburgh 2023 - Assembly Festival Technicians - Lighting, Sound, Stage Management and General Technicians


We are looking for experienced, Lighting, Sound, Stage Management and General Technicians to join our Edinburgh Team. Our venues range from 50 to 800 seats.

Roles are available in Edinburgh to build and work in our temporary theatre venues from July for the Jazz Festival and Food Festival and roll through until the end of August to cover the Fringe or from Early August for the Fringe dates only.

Staff are required to be 18+ due to the licensed nature of our sites, and have a legal right to work in the UK, no Visas are able to be offered for these roles.

    Assembly Festival is one of the largest and longest running multi-venues on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. n 2023, we will be presenting around 200 shows across 6 sites, across all performance genres. Assembly Festival’s summer season begins on 14 July when it welcomes Edinburgh Jazz and Blues to Assembly George Square Gardens and Assembly Roxy; before the Edinburgh Food Festival returns 21 – 30 July. Our festival programme will kick off on Wednesday 2 August with the Assembly Gala showcase.

    The Press Coordinator will work with the communications team, to collate information from companies and artists, and coordinate and generate broadcast press coverage for Assembly as part of the Festival Fringe 2022.

    Bars are an essential part of the Assembly Festival experience, they are the social areas where audiences and performers gather, adding to the energetic buzz of the site. As a bar team member, you will be on the front line, serving drinks and making our customers day. This role is vital. We expect hard graft and an ability to work in a team with new people, creating a great working environment conducive to an amazing experience. This role requires you to be flexible and mature. Your focus will be on making drinks, dealing with stock, keeping the bar and venue clean, working with other departments and being friendly to customers.

    We are also looking for members of our logistics team who help manage stock deliveries around the sites and support bar operations, these roles can have early starts and require a good level of fitness to safely move kegs around our sites.

As a Catering team member, you will be on the front line, creating meals that bring smiles to punters faces and warmth to their bellies. This role is vital. We expect hard graft and an ability to work in a team with new people, creating a great working environment conducive to an amazing experience. This role requires you to be flexible and mature. Your focus will be on prepping for and serving meals and beverages, dealing with stock, keeping the food stalls and venue clean, working with other departments and being friendly to customers.

  • Fringe Festival Build Crew

    We're looking for enthusiastic and experienced team members to join our build crews for our Summer Festival Season over July and early August, as well as the get out at the end of August 2023.

    We're interested in hearing from you if you have experience in construction/carpentry/festival or event building/fencing and scaffolding and painting as well as plant operators or build crews. Roles are offered on a contract basis and run between the 26th of June until Early August, as required.

    We are also looking for drivers to join our runner (Driving) team.

    Roles are paid dependent on skill set and experience but are no less than £15 per hour.

Assembly Festival

Assembly Festival is one of the longest-running and most popular of the multi-space venues that operates at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Starting in 1981 with a programme of just four shows, we now present a programme of more than 200 productions to an audience of over half a million in a typical year. Over this time we have built a reputation for exciting programming and developing creative and sustainable events which provide a platform for artists, makers and creators to share what they have to offer.
