Roles are available in Edinburgh from end July and roll through until the end of August to cover the Fringe Festival and other events that we operate across the summer. All roles are fixed-term, PAYE seasonal contracts.
Roles are paid the Real Living Wage at a minimum of £12.60 per hour, paid fortnightly in arrears.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Street Team Supervisor

Assembly Festival is one of the longest-running and most prestigious multi-venue operations at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, presenting an eclectic, high-quality programme of theatre, comedy, music, cabaret and more. We welcome audiences from all over the world and pride ourselves on delivering an unforgettable festival experience.
As a Street Team Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in leading, motivating, and supporting Assembly Festival’s Street Team. You will ensure the successful execution of flyering, audience engagement, and ticket-driving activity across the festival. You’ll be a proactive and organised leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for live performance and excellent people skills.
Roles are available in Edinburgh from end July and roll through until the end of August to cover the Fringe Festival and other events that we operate across the summer. All roles are fixed-term, PAYE seasonal contracts.
Roles are paid the Real Living Wage at a minimum of £14.50 per hour, paid fortnightly in arrears.

Head of Programming

Assembly sets the standard for theatre, comedy and entertainment on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, by providing high calibre work in temporary theatre spaces in the magnificent Assembly Hall, Assembly Rooms, Assembly Roxy, Assembly Checkpoint, George Square Gardens and its surrounding spaces. Assembly’s portfolio also involved working with Assembly theatre, the charity that powers Assembly Roxy year-round, and through Unique Assembly, are co-producers of Edinburgh’s Winter Festivals on behalf of City of Edinburgh Council.
The Head of Programming will play a key role in shaping and delivering Assembly’s artistic vision together with the Artistic Director and the programming team. The position is responsible for curating exciting and financially sustainable programmes of Comedy, Theatre, Dance, Music, Cabaret, and Exhibitions. This role demands a confident cultural leader who can balance artistic excellence with commercial viability while guiding a high-performing team and maintaining strategic partnerships. Producing experience and skills are essential.
Location: The position is based in our Edinburgh office, though some home working and flexible working patterns may be considered.
Hours: Full time, permanent. Evening and weekend work may be required in busier periods. The employee is entitled to twenty-five days leave per year, plus eight public holidays, at such time as agreed in advance.
Salary: £40-45k per annum, dependent on experience.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Digital Marketing Assistant

Assembly Festival is one of the largest and longest running multi venues on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2025 we will be presenting a programme of around 200 shows across all performance genres. Assembly Festival’s summer season begins on 18 July when it welcomes Edinburgh Jazz and Blues to Assembly George Square Gardens and Assembly Roxy; before the Edinburgh Folk & Food Festival returns 18 – 27 July. Our festival programme will kick off on Wednesday 30 July with the Assembly Gala showcase.
The Digital Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Digital Marketing and wider communications team to ensure the effective delivery of the promotional activity for this year’s Fringe season. Covering content creation, copy writing, scheduling and analytics, this role would suit someone looking to gain experience in a dynamic marketing and communications department to accelerate their career.

The Marketing Assistant role is key within the marketing and communications team assisting in a wide range of activities and tasks, including: collaborating with visiting companies to strategise promotion for their shows, assisting in creating promotional campaigns and analysing the performance of those campaigns. Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Press Officer (Summer Contract)

The Press Officer (Summer Contract) will play a vital role in delivering the press and media strategy for Assembly Festival’s 2025 summer season, including the Edinburgh Folk & Food Festival. Working closely with the Press Team, the Broadcast and Event Manager, and the Head of Marketing and Communications, the role supports all aspects of press office coordination, media liaison, artist relations, and on-site communications activity.
This role will also contribute to the delivery of in-house PR campaigns, supporting institutional storytelling, organisational announcements, and internal brand positioning. It is ideal for an early-to-mid career communications professional who thrives in a dynamic festival environment, with a passion for live performance and cultural events.

The Social Media Coordinator will play a key role in delivering the day-to-day social media output for Assembly Festival’s 2025 summer season, ensuring our social channels are dynamic, engaging, informative, and on-brand. Working closely with the Marketing and Digital teams, this role will help grow audiences, drive ticket sales, and support artists, while contributing to a vibrant and authentic voice across all platforms.
This role is suited to a highly creative communicator with experience in real-time social media delivery, content creation, and a passion for live performance and festivals. The role will also be instrumental in delivering the core content pillars of the organisation’s digital content strategy.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Build & Break / Site Crew
We're looking for enthusiastic and experienced team members to join our site carpenters and Site Managers to help build and break the Festival as well as experienced site crew for the run!
We're interested in hearing from you if you have experience in construction/carpentry/festival or event building/fencing and scaffolding and painting as well as plant operators or build crews. Roles are offered on a contract basis and run on varying dates between June an July for the build and late August to September for the break.
There are additional site crew roles based on a full time rota across the festival.
Roles are paid dependent on skill set and experience but are no less than £13.60 per hour.
