Roles are available in Edinburgh from end July and roll through until the end of August to cover the Fringe Festival and other events that we operate across the summer. All roles are fixed-term, PAYE seasonal contracts.
Roles are paid the Real Living Wage at a minimum of £12.60 per hour, paid fortnightly in arrears.
Staff are required to be 18+ due to the licensed nature of our sites, and have a legal right to work in the UK, no Visas are able to be offered for these roles.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Street Team Supervisor

Assembly Festival is one of the longest-running and most prestigious multi-venue operations at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, presenting an eclectic, high-quality programme of theatre, comedy, music, cabaret and more. We welcome audiences from all over the world and pride ourselves on delivering an unforgettable festival experience.
As a Street Team Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in leading, motivating, and supporting Assembly Festival’s Street Team. You will ensure the successful execution of flyering, audience engagement, and ticket-driving activity across the festival. You’ll be a proactive and organised leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for live performance and excellent people skills.
Roles are available in Edinburgh from end July and roll through until the end of August to cover the Fringe Festival and other events that we operate across the summer. All roles are fixed-term, PAYE seasonal contracts.
Roles are paid the Real Living Wage at a minimum of £14.50 per hour, paid fortnightly in arrears.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Digital Marketing Assistant

Assembly Festival is one of the largest and longest running multi venues on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2025 we will be presenting a programme of around 200 shows across all performance genres. Assembly Festival’s summer season begins on 18 July when it welcomes Edinburgh Jazz and Blues to Assembly George Square Gardens and Assembly Roxy; before the Edinburgh Folk & Food Festival returns 18 – 27 July. Our festival programme will kick off on Wednesday 30 July with the Assembly Gala showcase.
The Digital Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Digital Marketing and wider communications team to ensure the effective delivery of the promotional activity for this year’s Fringe season. Covering content creation, copy writing, scheduling and analytics, this role would suit someone looking to gain experience in a dynamic marketing and communications department to accelerate their career.

The Marketing Assistant role is key within the marketing and communications team assisting in a wide range of activities and tasks, including: collaborating with visiting companies to strategise promotion for their shows, assisting in creating promotional campaigns and analysing the performance of those campaigns. Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Press Officer (Summer Contract)

The Press Officer (Summer Contract) will play a vital role in delivering the press and media strategy for Assembly Festival’s 2025 summer season, including the Edinburgh Folk & Food Festival. Working closely with the Press Team, the Broadcast and Event Manager, and the Head of Marketing and Communications, the role supports all aspects of press office coordination, media liaison, artist relations, and on-site communications activity.
This role will also contribute to the delivery of in-house PR campaigns, supporting institutional storytelling, organisational announcements, and internal brand positioning. It is ideal for an early-to-mid career communications professional who thrives in a dynamic festival environment, with a passion for live performance and cultural events.

Best of the Fest Assistant Producer

Assembly Festival are looking for an assistant producer for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025 to support the coordination of our Best of the Fest line-up shows throughout the month of August.
Best of the Fest @ Assembly George Square (Gordon Aikman Theatre)
Best of the Fest (BOTF) is our flagship comedy showcase, weekends at 23:50 in Gordon Aikman Theatre
Each show has 5 acts and a compere.
Reporting directly to the Programming team & the Best of the Fest Producer, the Assistant Producer will support them in the smooth planning and delivery of the show.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated outstanding time management, organisational and planning skills in a live events context as well as the ability to function in time-sensitive and high-pressured situations and have a profound love of live comedy!
Duration: This is a part-time position (short contract) starting Monday 28th July 2025 for induction, ending Sunday 24th August 2025. Debrief to follow on Tuesday 26th August 2025. This role can be worked around other responsibilities provided all duties & obligations for the post are fulfilled.
Hours: Part-time – weekend evenings during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for Best of the Fest.
Call time between 22:55 and 23:10 at Gordon Aikman Theatre for each show.
Friday 1st August & Saturday 2nd August (2 shows)
Thursday 7th – Saturday 9th August (3 shows)
Thursday 14th – Saturday 16th August (3 shows)
Thursday 21st – Saturday 23rd August (3 shows)

Best of the Fest Producer

Assembly produce 3 line-up shows:
Best of the Fest Daytime – our mixed-bill showcase of family, circus, cabaret and comedy shows. Runs Thu 31st July – Sun 24th August (22 shows) at 13:20, Assembly Rooms
Best of the Fest: The New Class, which will showcase up-and-coming comedy acts. Runs Thu 1st – 24th August (15 shows) at 22:35, Assembly George Square Gardens
Best of the Fest – our flagship comedy showcase. Each show has 5 acts and a compere. Runs weekends Fri 2nd – Sat 23rd August (11 shows) at 23:50, Assembly George Square
Reporting to the Programming team, the Best of the Fest Producer will support them in the smooth planning and delivery of our showcase shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

This is a full-time position (short contract) starting 21st July 2025, ending 5th September 2025 (7 weeks)

£4200 for 7-week contract

48 hours per week over 6 days (with any additional required days off to be agreed in advance with the Programme Manager)

The Administration Support & Festival Reception Team will be key to ensuring the smooth running of the office and supporting the teams within it, they are front line to our management offices and will meet and greet numerous performing companies, artists and agencies.
There are two positions available and start in Edinburgh from mid to end July and roll through until 30th August to cover the Fringe Festival and other events that we operate across the summer. Start dates may vary.
Roles are paid the Real Living Wage at a minimum of £12.60 per hour, paid fortnightly in arrears. Evening and weekend work as required, you may be required to work on bank or public holiday.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Assembly Festival Technicians - Lighting, Sound, Stage Management and General Technicians
We are looking for experienced, Lighting, Sound, Stage Management and General Technicians to join our Edinburgh Team. Our venues range from 50 to 800 seats.
Roles are available in Edinburgh to build and work in our temporary theatre venues from mid July, and roll through until the end of August to cover the Fringe Festival performances. Some venues are also used for the Edinburgh Food Festival which may require a slightly earlier start date.
Roles paid dependent on experience, contract length and venue size on a tier system - between £3700 to £4250 for the build, break and operational period of the Fringe Festival.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Build & Break / Site Crew
We're looking for enthusiastic and experienced team members to join our site carpenters and Site Managers to help build and break the Festival as well as experienced site crew for the run!
We're interested in hearing from you if you have experience in construction/carpentry/festival or event building/fencing and scaffolding and painting as well as plant operators or build crews. Roles are offered on a contract basis and run on varying dates between June an July for the build and late August to September for the break.
There are additional site crew roles based on a full time rota across the festival.
Roles are paid dependent on skill set and experience but are no less than £13.60 per hour.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Street Food Team - Kitchen Staff, FoH staff and Supervisors
Assembly’s Street Food stalls are an essential part of the Assembly Festival experience, they are the social areas where audiences and performers gather, adding to the energetic buzz of the site. As a Street Food team member, you will be on the front line, creating meals that bring smiles to punters faces and warmth to their bellies. This role is vital. We expect hard graft and an ability to work in a team with new people, creating a great working environment conducive to an amazing experience. This role requires you to be flexible and mature. Your focus will be on prepping for and serving meals and beverages, dealing with stock, keeping the food stalls and venue clean, working with other departments and being friendly to customers.

Edinburgh Fringe 2025 - Venue Production Manager
We're looking for top notch production managers to join our Fringe Team! The role will oversee the build, technical rehearsals and running of the venue (and sub-venues) from a technical perspective, as well as assisting the senior technical team with visiting company shows.
The Production Manager (PM) is Assembly’s representative at all times. You will work alongside a Venue Manager, to ensure the smooth running of the venue, and the surrounding site including bars, concessions and any Box Offices within that domain. The role is a management position and as such responsibilities include representing Assembly with incoming companies and our Landlords; budget management; assembly team management; suppliers and associated contracts management. The PM will be responsible for all staff working in the venue.
This role is paid a fee of up to £8500 for the role for the period depending contract length and operating period of the venue offered
